Statistics

Understand the statistics of your experiences

Learn how to read, filter, and share the statistics of your Fastory experiences: unique users, screen-by-screen funnel, traffic sources, CTA clicks, and games played.

The Statistics page lets you measure the performance of your experiences: marketing games, interactive campaigns, and web stories. You can track the number of users, their behavior screen by screen, clicks on your buttons, and games played, all filterable by period and by experience.

What is it for?

Statistics help you answer the essential questions of any campaign: how many people took part, where they came from, which device they play on, at what point they drop off, and which buttons generate the most clicks.

This information lets you optimize your ongoing campaigns, prove the performance of an activation to a sponsor or management, and compare your experiences against each other to identify the mechanics that engage your audience the most.

Statistics are calculated from the sessions of users who accepted cookies. They may therefore be slightly lower than the actual traffic measured by other tools.

Access the Statistics page

  1. Log in to your Fastory back office.
  1. In the side menu, click Statistics.
  1. Choose the tab you need: Overview, Users, Bots, CTAs, Games, or Quests.

Access depends on your plan: the overview is available with the basic statistics option, while the Users, Bots, CTAs, and Games tabs require the advanced statistics option. If a tab is not included in your plan, a screen invites you to activate the corresponding option.

Filter your statistics

At the top of the page, a filter bar applies to all tabs (except Quests):

  • All experiences: limit the analysis to one or more specific experiences;
  • All channels: filter by acquisition channel (Direct, Referral, Social, Paid social, Display, E-mail, Organic, QR Code, Other);
  • All countries: filter by the users' country of origin;
  • the period selector: choose a preset (Last hour, Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month, Last year, All time) or set a custom range.

Good to know:

  • your filters are saved for your workspace: you will find them again on your next visit;
  • the filters are written into the page URL: simply copy your browser's address to share the exact same filtered view with a colleague;
  • the button with the circular arrow lets you refresh the data at any time.

Share the Statistics page

The Share button at the top of the page generates a public link to your statistics. This link opens the statistics on a dedicated page that can be viewed without a Fastory account: ideal for a client, a sponsor, or a manager who does not have access to the back office.

The filters active at the time of sharing (period, experiences, channels, countries) are preserved in the link. A QR code is also provided to open the page directly on mobile.

You can also share a specific chart: click a chart's title to copy a link that opens the page directly on that chart.

Overview

The Overview tab displays the main KPIs of your experiences:

Indicator
What it tells you
Users
The number of unique users who landed on the experience, along with the average time spent
Bot
The number of unique users who answered at least one bot question
CTA
The number of unique users who clicked a button, with the corresponding percentage of users
Share
The number of unique users who clicked a share button
Games played
The total number of games played across your games

Behavior by screen

The Users chart presents a funnel showing how many unique users reach each screen of the selected experience: intro, content, game, gallery, win screen, lose screen, and outro. Use the experience selector above the chart to change the experience being analyzed.

This funnel is invaluable for spotting where participants drop off: if many users leave between the intro and the game, your introduction screen may need to be simplified.

Other Overview charts

  • Users by device: mobile, desktop, and tablet breakdown (advanced statistics);
  • Users by source: breakdown of traffic sources (advanced statistics);
  • Average games: breakdown of games played per game.

Users tab

The Users tab details who your visitors are and where they come from. It displays the number of unique users and the average time spent, followed by several charts:

  • Source: Global: traffic evolution over time by channel, with a Daily, Weekly, or Monthly display;
  • Source: Social Networks: evolution of traffic coming from each social network (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.);
  • Source: Social Networks (paid): evolution of traffic coming from your ads;
  • Users by source: overall breakdown of traffic sources;
  • All sources: table listing each source and its share of traffic;
  • Users by UTM_source, Users by UTM_medium, Users by UTM_campaign, and Users by UTM_content: breakdown according to your UTM parameters, to measure your campaigns precisely;
  • OS, Browsers, and Users by device: technical breakdown of your audience.

Tip: add UTM parameters to all your distribution links (posts, newsletters, ads). You can then compare the performance of each channel directly in this tab.

Bots tab

If your experience uses a conversational bot, the Bots tab analyzes how it is used:

  • the number of unique users who interacted with the bot;
  • the number of answers given to each bot question;
  • the number of emails collected by traffic source;
  • the breakdown by device, available only for users who accepted cookies.

A selector lets you choose which bot sequence to analyze.

CTAs tab: buttons and shares

The CTAs tab measures the performance of your action buttons:

Indicator
What it tells you
CTA
The number of unique users who clicked a button
Total CTA impressions
The total number of times your buttons were displayed
Share
The number of unique users who clicked a share button

For each button, a chart compares impressions and clicks, and displays the CTR (click-through rate). Buttons are ranked from most displayed to least displayed: you can identify your best-performing CTAs at a glance.

The share section then details:

  • Share: the volume of shares by type;
  • Device by share type: the breakdown of shares by device, filterable by type (Facebook, Twitter, Email, Whatsapp, LinkedIn, URL);
  • Source by share type: the breakdown of shares by traffic source, with the same filter.

Games tab

The Games tab gathers the statistics of your game mechanics:

  • Games played: the total number of games over the period;
  • Average games: the average number of games per user;
  • Games played by mechanic: the breakdown of games by game type.

Quiz game details

The Quiz game section displays the breakdown of answers given to each question, along with the Success rate. If your quiz has only a few questions, they are all displayed side by side; beyond that, a selector lets you move from one question to the next. It is the best way to identify questions that are too easy or too difficult.

Details for other mechanics

  • Prediction game: the breakdown of answers given to each prediction question;
  • Swipe game: the breakdown of choices made on each card;
  • Vote contest: the breakdown of votes received by each media in your vote contests.

These sections only appear if your experiences include the corresponding mechanic.

Quests tab

If you use quests, the Quests tab offers a dedicated overview: season selection, mission completion rate, and step completion rate. The page's general filters do not apply to this tab.

Best practices

  • Always start with the Overview to spot an anomaly, then dig into the relevant tab.
  • Compare the screen-by-screen funnel before and after modifying your experience to measure the real impact of the change.
  • Filter by experience before drawing conclusions: a workspace's overall figures mix all your campaigns together.
  • Share the filtered page rather than a screenshot: your contact sees up-to-date data and can explore it themselves.
  • Keep an eye on the CTR of your CTAs: a button that is displayed a lot but rarely clicked deserves a new label, a new color, or a better placement.
  • Keep in mind that only users who accepted cookies are counted: it is normal if your figures differ slightly from other tools.

Concrete use cases

If you want to prove the performance of an activation to a sponsor, share a filtered public link

Filter the page on the sponsor's experience and on the campaign period, then click Share. The sponsor views the results on a dedicated page, without a Fastory account, with data that is always up to date.

If you want to know which distribution channel works best, use the Users tab

Distribute your experience with distinct UTMs per channel (organic post, newsletter, ad). In the Users tab, compare the Source: Global and Users by UTM_campaign charts to identify the channel that brings in the most participants.

If you want to improve a game's completion rate, analyze the screen-by-screen funnel

In the Overview, select your experience in the Users chart and spot the screen where the most users abandon. Adjust that screen, then compare the funnel over the following period.

FAQ

How do I access the statistics of my Fastory experiences?

How do I filter Fastory statistics by a specific experience or period?

Use the filter bar at the top of the Statistics page: selection of experiences, acquisition channels, countries, and period. Period presets range from the last hour to last year, with the option to set a custom range. Filters apply to all tabs except Quests.

How do I share the statistics of a Fastory experience with someone who has no account?

What does the Users indicator measure in Fastory statistics?

The Users indicator counts the number of unique users who landed on your experiences during the selected period, along with the average time spent. Only users who accepted cookies are counted, which may explain a slight difference compared to other measurement tools.

How do I analyze clicks on the buttons of a Fastory experience?

Open the CTAs tab of the Statistics page. There you will find the number of users who clicked, the total impressions and, for each button, a chart comparing impressions and clicks along with the CTR. Share statistics by network, by device, and by source complete this view.

Where can I see the detailed results of a quiz or a vote contest in Fastory?

In the Games tab of the Statistics page. The Quiz game section displays the breakdown of answers per question and the success rate; the Vote contest section shows the breakdown of votes received by each media. Equivalent sections exist for prediction and swipe games.

Why are some statistics tabs locked in my Fastory back office?

The Users, Bots, CTAs, and Games tabs are part of the advanced statistics option. If your plan only includes basic statistics, only the Overview is accessible and a screen offers to activate the advanced option to unlock the rest.
