Getting started with Fastory
Race Game
Create and customize the Race Game in Fastory, a runner-style mini-game where participants collect items, avoid obstacles, and compete for the highest score.
The Race Game is a runner-style mini-game that challenges your participants to cover the greatest possible distance by collecting items and avoiding obstacles, within a limited time. Easy to pick up and fully customizable, it turns your experience into an addictive score challenge.
What is it for?
The Race Game captures your audience's attention with a scoring mechanic that is easy to understand and instantly engaging. Each participant tries to achieve the best possible score, which encourages involvement and repeat attempts.
You can use it to bring a key moment to life, showcase the prizes to be won, and redirect players to the next part of your experience once the game is over.
Create a Race Game
Once the Add-on is activated, you can create your Race Game in a few steps:
- Choose the microsite format.
- Add a new screen in the timeline.
- Select Race Game.
The principle is simple: the user must run as far as possible while collecting items and avoiding obstacles, in order to reach the highest possible score within the time limit.
Game flow
The Race Game consists of three steps:
- Intro: the game's welcome screen, where you present the goal of the game as well as the prizes to be won.
- Game: the actual gameplay screen.
- Lost or won: the end screen, where you thank participants and redirect them to the next screen of your experience.
Customize the style and settings
You can customize your game and change the following images:
- the background image, which fills the entire screen and repeats vertically;
- the items to collect (up to 6), with their state once picked up (items briefly grow larger, then disappear);
- 2 items to avoid;
- the player.
You can also adjust several game settings:
- set the difficulty level;
- change the duration of the game;
- change the number of points to reach;
- change the colors.
Image formats
For the best rendering, follow these dimensions:
Element | Dimensions |
Background | 1999 x 1999 px (recommended ratio: 9:16) |
Ball | 80 x 80 px |
Target | 50 x 50 px |
Goal structure | 320 x 200 px |
Goal net | 222 x 130 px |
Goalkeeper | 50 x 120 px |
Flying object | 60 x 60 px |
Particles | 32 x 32 px |
Best practices
- Follow the recommended image dimensions to avoid distortion and keep the display sharp.
- Use the recommended 9:16 ratio for the background image so it properly fills the entire screen.
- Visually differentiate the items to collect from the items to avoid, so players can tell them apart at a glance.
- Adjust the difficulty level and duration to match your audience, to keep the game accessible while staying challenging.
- Clearly present your prizes on the intro screen to motivate participation from the start.
Concrete use cases
If you want to run a contest with prizes
Highlight the prizes to be won on the intro screen, then let your participants try to achieve the best score. The end screen then lets you thank them and guide them to the next part of your experience.
If you want to maximize time spent and replayability
Set the duration and the number of points to reach to create a challenge that is just hard enough, encouraging players to try again and improve their score.
If you want to adapt the game to your brand universe
Replace the background image, the items to collect, the items to avoid, and the player with your own visuals, and change the colors to fully match the Race Game to your brand identity.
