Getting started with Fanzone

The Experiences Block

Learn how to showcase your Fastory games, campaigns, and interactive content in your Fanzone with the Experiences Block: visibility, ordering, click behavior, and access conditions.

The Experiences Block lets you display the games, campaigns, and interactive content you create in Fastory directly in your Fanzone. Your fans discover your experiences in a carousel and can start playing in one click.

What is it for?

Your Fanzone is your community's entry point. The Experiences Block showcases your published experiences there: quizzes, predictions, Instant Win games, web stories, and every campaign you create in Fastory.

Each experience appears as a visual card in a carousel. You control which experiences are visible, the order they appear in, and how they open when a fan clicks on them.

It is the ideal Block for spotlighting your ongoing activations: a matchday game, a sponsored contest, or a seasonal campaign.

Access the Block

  1. Open your Fanzone in the back office.
  1. Click Add a Block.
  1. Select Experiences.

If the Block is already in place, click it in the editor to open its settings.

Key features

Manage the list of experiences

The Block syncs automatically with your published experiences: new experiences appear in the list without any action on your part.

From the editor, you can:

  1. Search for an experience using the Search an experience field.
  1. Filter the list with the All, Most recent, Published, and Ended filters.
  1. Switch between a list view and a grid view.
  1. Show or hide each experience in the Fanzone using the visibility toggle.
  1. Reorder experiences by drag and drop. Drag and drop is available with the All filter and no active search.

Customize an experience

Click Edit on a card to open the Information panel:

  • replace the thumbnail with a custom image;
  • turn Open in a new tab on or off for that specific experience.

Choose the click behavior

In the Navigation section, the Open in a new browser tab option sets the default behavior for all experiences in the Block:

  • Enabled: the experience opens in a new browser tab.
  • Disabled: the experience opens without leaving the Fanzone, in an overlay window on desktop or in a panel that slides up from the bottom of the screen (drawer) on mobile. The fan closes the window and is right back in the Fanzone.

The setting defined on an individual experience takes priority over this global setting.

Adjust the style

In the style settings, you can:

  • choose the Size of the cards: Small, Medium, or Large;
  • enable Pagination to display navigation dots below the carousel.

When only one experience is visible, it displays full width in landscape format.

Access conditions and unlocking

Depending on your configuration, an experience can be reserved for certain fans:

  • Members only: the fan must be logged in to play.
  • Subscribers only: the fan must belong to specific segments of your audience.

A locked experience stays visible in the carousel with a padlock and a prompt to log in. These restrictions are tied to your current season and are managed in the Block's Global conditioning section, available depending on your plan.

If an experience is scheduled, a countdown appears on its card before it opens. Once the experience has ended, the card indicates that too.

Star rewards

If an experience awards stars in your gamification program, a badge showing the number of stars to earn appears on the card. This badge is hidden if your season uses a points-based leaderboard.

Best practices

  • Place your priority experiences at the front of the carousel: they are the first ones your fans will see.
  • Hide ended experiences rather than deleting them: you keep their configuration.
  • Favor opening in an overlay to keep your fans in the Fanzone and chain experiences together.
  • Take care with your thumbnails: a custom image in the right format attracts more clicks.

Concrete use cases

If you want to energize a matchday, put the prediction in first position

Place your prediction experience at the front of the carousel on the morning of the match, then replace it with a post-match quiz that same evening.

If you want to showcase a sponsor, reserve their game for logged-in members

Enable the members-only restriction on the sponsored experience: you collect qualified sign-ups while offering your community an exclusive perk.

FAQ

How do I add a Fastory experience to a Fanzone?

Add the Experiences Block from Add a Block in your Fanzone editor. Your published experiences automatically appear in the Block's list: turn on visibility for the ones you want to show your fans.

How do I change the order of experiences displayed in the Experiences Block?

In the Block editor, with the All filter active and no search in progress, drag the cards to reorder them. The order set in the back office is the carousel order on the fan side.

How does an experience open when a fan clicks on it in the Fanzone?

If the Open in a new browser tab option is enabled, the experience opens in a new tab. Otherwise, it opens on top of the Fanzone: an overlay window on desktop, a drawer panel on mobile. The fan stays in your Fanzone.

Why does an experience show a padlock in the Fanzone?

A padlock means the experience is subject to an access condition: it is reserved for logged-in members or for specific subscriber segments. The fan is prompted to log in to unlock it.

Why is a countdown displayed on an experience in my Fanzone?

The experience is scheduled and not yet open: the countdown shows the time remaining before it opens. A similar display flags an experience whose participation period has ended.

How do I hide an experience from the Fanzone without deleting it?

In the Experiences Block editor, turn off the visibility toggle on the experience's card. It disappears from the carousel on the fan side but stays in your list, ready to be reactivated.
