Statistics: CTA & Share

Learn how to read the CTA & Share statistics tab in Fastory to measure button impressions, clicks, and sharing activity across Facebook, X, and email.

The CTA & Share tab in your statistics helps you understand how visitors interact with the buttons in your experience. It tracks both your calls to action (CTAs) and the share button.

What is it for?

This tab brings together the indicators that measure how engaged your visitors are with the buttons in your experience. It answers two key questions: are your CTAs generating clicks, and is your experience being shared? By comparing impressions and clicks, you get a concrete measure of how effective each button is and how appealing your experience is.

Access the feature

  1. Open the Statistics of your experience.
  1. Select the CTA & Share tab.
  1. Browse the charts displayed: CTAs first, then sharing.

CTAs

The charts in the CTA section represent each of the calls to action in your experience. For each CTA, you can compare two values:

  • the number of impressions: how many times the button was seen;
  • the number of clicks: how many times the button was clicked.

Comparing the two tells you whether a button is actually being clicked relative to the number of people who saw it.

Sharing

The Share section gathers all the information about your experience's share button.

Share

This chart gives you:

  • the number of impressions of the button (how many times it was seen);
  • the number of clicks on the button;
  • the type of share used, between Facebook, X, and email.

Share by device

This chart shows which device your experience was shared from the most.

Share by source

This chart shows which source your experience was shared from the most.

Best practices

  • Always compare a CTA's impressions with its clicks rather than looking at clicks alone: a button that is seen a lot but rarely clicked deserves to be repositioned or reworked.
  • Keep an eye on the preferred share type (Facebook, X, or email) to focus your messaging on the channel your audience actually uses.
  • Cross-reference share by device with share by source to understand the context in which your experience is circulating.
  • Keep in mind that only data from visitors who accepted cookies is counted: the volumes displayed reflect that scope.

Concrete use cases

If you want to know whether your CTAs are working

For each CTA, look at the gap between impressions and clicks. A CTA that is seen a lot but rarely clicked signals an issue with its wording, visibility, or placement.

If you want to measure how viral your experience is

Rely on the share chart: the number of clicks on the share button, combined with the type of share used, shows you how widely your experience is being passed along.

If you want to tailor your content to the right channel

Identify the dominant share type (Facebook, X, or email) and the source generating the most shares, then focus your distribution efforts on those channels.

If you want to optimize the mobile experience

Check share by device: if most shares come from mobile, make sure your experience and your CTAs are perfectly readable on small screens.

FAQ

Where can I find the CTA & Share tab in Fastory?

It is located in the Statistics of your experience, under the CTA & Share tab. You can access it directly from the performance tracking of the experience in question.

What is the difference between impressions and clicks?

Impressions are the number of times a button was seen, while clicks are the number of times it was clicked. Comparing the two lets you measure the button's real effectiveness.

Which sharing networks are tracked?

The share chart distinguishes three share types: Facebook, X, and email. You can see which one your visitors used the most.

Why is some CTA or share data missing?

Only data from visitors who gave their cookie consent is available in Fastory. Visitors who decline cookies are not counted in these statistics.

How do I know which device my experience is shared from the most?

The Share by device chart shows you the device your experience was shared from the most, helping you prioritize your optimizations.

Can I compare several CTAs within the same experience?

Yes. Each CTA in your experience is represented individually, with its own impressions and its own clicks, so you can compare them against each other.
