Conversational bot.
How do I create and set up my Bot?
Learn how to create, configure, and trigger your Fastory conversational Bot to collect audience data through an engaging conversation instead of a traditional form.
The Bot lets you collect data from your audience through an interactive, personalized conversation rather than a traditional form. Thanks to a natural tone, micro-steps, and well-timed follow-ups, it usually gets more responses and a better conversion rate. This guide walks you through creating, setting up, and triggering your Bot.
What is it for?
The Bot turns data collection into a smooth, engaging experience. Instead of a static form, your audience answers questions asked as in a real conversation, which increases completion.
From the same interface, you can create an interactive contest, collect leads at an event, or enrich your fans' experience, whether you are running a Live In-Stadia activation, a media operation, or a retail campaign.
Create your Bot
- Go to an existing experience, or create a new one.
- In the left menu, open the Bot tab.
- Click New Bot. A preview of your Bot appears on the right side of the screen.
- Give your Bot a name.
Trigger the Bot and link it to your screens
To access the Bot settings, click the gear icon. Then use the Link your bot to an experience option: it lets you connect the Bot to one or more screens.
- Select the relevant experience.
- Choose the screen where you want to place the Bot.
- Click the + to add it to other screens as well.
Prevent the Bot from closing
You can prevent the Bot from closing until the player meets certain conditions. Access to a game or a piece of content can therefore be conditioned on specific actions, for example requiring the player to accept the rules before continuing through the experience.
How is the Bot displayed?
The Bot can open in several ways:
- Automatically: the Bot appears as soon as the user lands on the screen.
- Via a Bot button placed on your screen, which the user clicks to open it.
To go further, you can read the article How to connect my Bot to my experience.
Duplicate a Bot
You can duplicate an existing Bot to reuse its configuration on another experience or another campaign, without starting from scratch.
Best practices
- Split your opening message in two: announce the benefit before asking for the email address, to reduce friction.
- Add quick replies and clear validations to keep the conversation flowing.
- Test the opening moment: on home screen load with a value-driven message, then after an action on the game screens.
- Separate your opt-ins and display the rules to stay GDPR compliant.
- Customize the vocabulary, emojis, CTAs, and rewards to match your campaign.
- Measure completion step by step and iterate with A/B tests.
Concrete use cases
If you want to create an interactive contest
Use the Bot to ask your questions and collect entries in a conversational format, then condition access to the game on accepting the rules.
If you want to collect leads at an event
Trigger the Bot automatically when users arrive on the home screen and ask for the email address in two steps, highlighting the benefit first to maximize collection.
If you want to enrich your fans' experience
Adapt the Bot's tone, emojis, and rewards to your audience's context and link it to several screens to guide the player throughout the experience.
