Getting started with Fanzone
Levels in your Fanzone
Learn how levels work in your Fanzone: how fans level up by earning stars, unlock in-game currency for the reward shop, and how to configure levels for each season.
Levels are the progression engine of your Fanzone. Each fan climbs from level to level as they stay active, which paces their engagement and gives them a clear goal on every visit.
What are levels for?
Levels reflect a fan's progression within your Fanzone. They are directly tied to the stars earned and are the only way to unlock in-game currency, which can then be spent in the reward shop.
They are a powerful lever to:
- sustain engagement over time: every action brings the fan closer to the next level;
- reward loyalty: every level-up distributes currency;
- structure your season: progression gives a common thread to your activations.
How does a fan level up?
As soon as a fan joins your Fanzone, they start at level 1 with 3 stars. Their level then increases automatically as they accumulate stars:
- by playing your games and experiences;
- by completing quests;
- by ranking in the leaderboards.
Each time a fan levels up, they receive currency they can spend in your reward shop.
Configure your season levels
The number of levels adapts to your goals: 10 levels minimum, 80 levels maximum per season.
To see how many stars are required at each threshold, click the eye icon to the right of your season: you will see, level by level, the star threshold required to reach the next one.
Levels are reset at the start of each new season (by default, twice a year), which restarts the competition for all your fans.
Best practices
- Match the number of levels to the length of your season: a short season works best with around ten levels so progression remains noticeable.
- Check the star thresholds via the eye icon: thresholds that are too far apart discourage fans, while thresholds that are too close make leveling up feel trivial.
- Pair each level with an attractive reward in the shop to give leveling up real meaning.
Concrete use cases
If you run a sports season
Align your season length with the club's calendar and let levels climb match after match: your most dedicated fans reach the highest levels and unlock the most currency.
If you launch a new Fanzone
Start with a short season of 10 levels to quickly create a sense of progression, then extend the scale in the following season.
