How do I connect Fastory to my SFTP server?

Learn how to activate and configure the SFTP Interconnection add-on so Fastory automatically delivers your collected data as CSV files to your own server.

Fastory can send the data you collect directly to your SFTP server. This interconnection relies on the SFTP Interconnection add-on, which must first be activated on your workspace.

What is it for?

The SFTP interconnection lets Fastory automatically deliver the collected data to your own server as CSV files. You get your data where you need it, at the frequency you choose, without having to run manual exports. You also decide whether you want to receive all the data or only the opt-ins.

Activate the SFTP Interconnection add-on

Sending data to an SFTP server requires the SFTP Interconnection add-on to be activated on your workspace. To find out more about the terms, contact us at support@fastory.io. Once the add-on is activated, you can access its settings and start the configuration.

Configure the interconnection

Once the add-on is activated, simply fill in its settings:

  1. Open the add-on settings by clicking the gear icon.
  1. Enter the connection details for your server.
  1. Set the destination folder, the sending frequency, and the data to transmit.
  1. Save your configuration.

Information to prepare

Before configuring the add-on, gather the following:

  • The address of the server that will receive the data.
  • The user to connect with.
  • The SSH server port.
  • The path of the folder where Fastory should deliver the generated CSV files.
  • The frequency at which you want to receive the data (hourly, daily, or weekly), along with the time of day or day of the week.
  • The data you want to receive: either all the bot data, or only the opt-ins.

If you have any questions during the configuration, feel free to contact us.

Best practices

  • Check with your technical team to get the server address, the user, the SSH port, and the destination folder path.
  • Make sure the specified folder actually exists on your server and that the user has write permissions.
  • Choose a sending frequency that fits your needs: hourly for close monitoring, daily or weekly for a more spaced-out synchronization.
  • Select only the opt-ins if you only need contacts who have given their consent.
  • Keep your connection credentials in a safe place and reach out to Fastory support if in doubt.

Concrete use cases

If you want to feed your system automatically

Configure the SFTP Interconnection add-on so Fastory delivers the CSV files to the folder of your choice. You get your data without manual exports, at the defined frequency.

If you want to retrieve only the consents

During the configuration, choose to receive only the opt-ins rather than all the bot data. Only contacts who have given their consent are then transmitted.

If you want a regular synchronization

Set the frequency to hourly, daily, or weekly, and specify the time of day or day of the week. Fastory then sends the data automatically at that pace.
