Getting started with Fanzone

The Leaderboard Block

Display your gamification season leaderboard in your Fanzone with the Podium Block: tabs, podium display, points or stars, and dedicated game leaderboards.

The Leaderboard Block displays your gamification season leaderboard directly in your Fanzone. Your fans check the podium, compare their scores, and stay motivated to come back and play.

What is it for?

Competition is a powerful engagement driver. The Leaderboard Block makes your fans' progress visible: every participation in your experiences feeds the season leaderboard, and the Block displays the results in real time in the Fanzone.

The Block relies on your season's Leaderboard configuration: the leaderboards enabled in your season are the ones that appear in the Fanzone.

In the Block catalog, it is called Podium.

Access the Block

  1. Open your Fanzone in the back office.
  1. Click Add a Block.
  1. Select Podium.

Main features

Leaderboard tabs

Depending on your season configuration, the Block displays one or more tabs:

  • Global: the cumulative leaderboard for the whole season;
  • Weekly: the leaderboard for the current week, reset every week;
  • period-based leaderboards: rolling Last 30 days or a custom period with start and end dates;
  • game-based leaderboards: a dedicated leaderboard for a Bracket, global or per phase, or for a Starting XI.

If only one leaderboard is visible, the tabs disappear and the leaderboard is displayed directly.

The podium and the participant list

Each tab highlights the Top 3 as a visual podium. Depending on your season's Podium display setting:

  • Podium only: only the top 3 are displayed;
  • Podium + all participants: the full leaderboard list is displayed below the podium. A logged-in fan also sees the Your ranking section, centered on their own position.

If no participation has been recorded yet, the Block displays "No leaderboard available".

Points or stars

The Global leaderboard scores are displayed in stars or points depending on your season configuration. The Weekly leaderboard is always displayed in points.

Configure the visible leaderboards

The leaderboards displayed by the Block are managed at the season level, in your season's Leaderboard tab:

  1. Open Leaderboard settings.
  1. In Visible leaderboards, enable or disable the Global and Weekly tabs.
  1. Click Add a leaderboard to create a period-based leaderboard (rolling 30 days or custom period) or a leaderboard linked to a game (Bracket or Starting XI).
  1. Choose the Podium display: Podium only or Podium + all participants.

These settings apply everywhere the leaderboard is displayed, including in the Podium Block of your Fanzone. If no leaderboard is enabled, the Block displays "No visible leaderboard".

Add a button

In the Block editor, click Add a button to display a button below the leaderboard. You can customize its icon, label, and destination, and remove it at any time.

Best practices

  • Enable the Weekly leaderboard alongside the Global one: it gives newcomers a fresh chance to shine every week.
  • Choose Podium + all participants if your community is active: seeing their own position motivates fans to climb.
  • Create a dedicated leaderboard for your key moments, for example a Bracket leaderboard during a cup, to focus the competition on the event.
  • Rename your leaderboards so they speak to your fans, for example "January Challenge".

Concrete use cases

If you want to boost engagement every week, put the Weekly tab front and center

The weekly leaderboard resets every week: communicate every Monday about the new challenge to create a recurring rendezvous.

If you run a cup Bracket, add its dedicated leaderboard

Create a leaderboard linked to your Bracket from the Leaderboard settings: your fans follow the prediction competition in a dedicated tab of the Block, globally or phase by phase.

FAQ

How do I display my season leaderboard in my Fanzone?

Add the Podium Block from Add a Block in your Fanzone editor. The Block automatically displays the leaderboards enabled in the Leaderboard settings of your current season.

What is the difference between the Global and Weekly leaderboards?

The Global leaderboard adds up scores from the whole season, while the Weekly leaderboard only counts points from the current week and resets every week. You can enable either one, or both.

How do I choose between displaying only the podium or all participants?

In your season's Leaderboard settings, the Podium display setting offers two options: Podium only, which limits the display to the Top 3, and Podium + all participants, which adds the full leaderboard list below the podium.

Why is my Fanzone leaderboard displayed in points instead of stars?

The unit of the Global leaderboard depends on your season configuration: stars by default, or points if your season is set up that way. The Weekly leaderboard is always displayed in points.

How do I add a leaderboard linked to a Bracket or a Starting XI in the Fanzone?

In your season's Leaderboard tab, open the settings then click Add a leaderboard. Choose a game leaderboard, select your Bracket or Starting XI, and it will appear as a dedicated tab in the Podium Block.

Why does my Leaderboard Block display "No visible leaderboard"?

No leaderboard is enabled in your season's Leaderboard settings. Enable at least one leaderboard, for example Global or Weekly, so the Block displays results.
