Export your data: CSV, leaderboards, and automatic SFTP

Export your Fastory data as CSV: Audience segments, contest winners, and Fanzone leaderboards, or automate recurring transfers to your own server with the SFTP connector.

The data collected by your Fastory experiences belongs to you. Several CSV exports are available depending on what you want to retrieve: contacts and entries, contest winners, Fanzone leaderboards. And for recurring needs, an SFTP connector automatically sends your data to your own server.

What is it for?

CSV exports let you reuse your data outside Fastory: importing into your CRM or emailing tool, analyzing in Excel, delivering prizes to winners, sharing leaderboards with a sponsor.

Each export reflects exactly what you see on screen: the selected segment, the active filters, and the selected period. You therefore export precisely the population you targeted.

Export an Audience segment

  1. Open the Audience page, then the segment to export, from the Users or Segments tab.
  1. Apply your filters: period, attributes, search.
  1. Click the Export button.
  1. In the Export window, choose the file content and confirm.

Two content options are available:

Option
What the file contains
All experience data
Contacts with their attributes, opt-ins, UTMs, and their game entries
Bot data only
Only the information collected by the bot

If you choose All experience data, you then specify the level of detail for entries:

  • With all player entries: one row per entry; a player who played three times appears three times
  • With only each player's best entry
  • With only each player's first entry
  • With only each player's last entry

Generation runs in the background: a notification tracks progress and the file downloads as soon as it is ready. The file is named after the segment. The columns match the segment's data: attributes, opt-ins, UTMs, game-by-game scores, and for Fanzone segments the predictions from the selected components (Predictor, Bracket, Starting XI).

If your workspace has the formatting add-on, the Custom Bot data formatting checkbox applies your tailor-made format (column renaming or transformation) defined with the Fastory team.

Export contest winners

From your workspace's contests page, each contest offers a download:

  • Download winners for an Instant Win
  • Download for a prize draw; the file includes winners and backup winners.

For each winner, the CSV file contains their prize, their status, the entry date, the code won if applicable, and the profile data collected.

Export Fanzone leaderboards

From your Fanzone season page, the Leaderboard tab offers an Export button:

  • on the overall season leaderboard
  • on each weekly leaderboard
  • on leaderboards by period
  • on Bracket or Starting XI leaderboards, via Export to CSV.

The file contains each fan's nickname, email, score, and position. The email is only filled in for fans who signed in with an account: a fan who played without logging in appears without an email. Because these exports contain personal data, they are restricted to the back office and are never visible on the player side.

Automate delivery with the SFTP connector

To feed your CRM or data warehouse on a regular basis, the Connector: SFTP add-on sends your Audience data straight to your server, with no manual action needed.

  1. Enable the Connector: SFTP add-on on your workspace.
  1. Fill in the connection details: SFTP server IP address, SFTP server port, SFTP server username, SFTP server password, and Name of the folder receiving the data.
  1. Choose the Frequency (UTC): hourly, daily, or weekly, with the delivery time and day.
  1. Select the Segment to use, or all segments in the workspace.

The SFTP export is incremental: each delivery only contains the data from the period elapsed since the previous one. A daily delivery contains the last 24 hours, a weekly delivery the last 7 days. This way, you avoid duplicates on your server.

Good to know: the connector relies on your segments. If no segment exists yet, create one first in the Audience tab. A public key is also available for download if your server authenticates with an SSH key.

Best practices

  • Apply your filters before exporting: the CSV reflects the segment, search, and period displayed at the time of export.
  • For an emailing tool, choose the option with only the last entry: you get one row per contact, with no duplicates.
  • To analyze engagement, export all entries: the number of rows per player measures how often they come back.
  • Run the winners export as soon as the contest closes to organize prize delivery without delay.
  • Test the SFTP connection with a daily frequency before switching to hourly.

Concrete use cases

If you want to feed your CRM after each campaign, export the campaign's segment

Create a segment dedicated to the campaign, filter on the email attribute, then export with the all experience data option and the last entry. The file imports directly into your CRM.

If you want to reward the best predictors of a Bracket, export its leaderboard

From the season's Leaderboard tab, open the Bracket leaderboard and click Export to CSV. You get nickname, email, score, and position to contact the winners.

If your IT department requires a daily data feed, set up the SFTP connector

Enable the add-on, fill in your IT department's server details, then choose the daily frequency and the relevant segment. Every night, an incremental CSV lands on the server without any action on your part.

FAQ

How do I export the contacts collected by a Fastory campaign to CSV?

Open the Audience page, select the campaign's segment, apply your filters, then click Export. Choose between all experience data or bot data only, and the CSV file downloads as soon as it is generated.

What is the difference between the "All experience data" and "Bot data only" exports?

All experience data includes contacts, their attributes, opt-ins, UTMs, and their game entries, with the level of detail of your choice. Bot data only is limited to the information collected by the bot, without entries.

How do I export a Bracket or Starting XI leaderboard in Fastory?

From your Fanzone season page, open the Leaderboard tab, select the Bracket or Starting XI leaderboard, then click Export to CSV. The file contains each fan's nickname, email, score, and position.

Why do some fans have no email in the Fanzone leaderboard export?

The email comes from the account the fan signed in with. A fan who played without logging in appears in the leaderboard with their nickname and score, but without an email.

How do I automate sending Fastory data to my SFTP server?

Enable the Connector: SFTP add-on, fill in the address, port, username, password, and destination folder, then choose the frequency and the segment to send. Fastory then automatically drops a CSV file on your server at each scheduled delivery.

Does the SFTP export send all the data every time?

No, the SFTP export is incremental: each file only contains the data from the period elapsed since the previous delivery, based on the chosen frequency. This avoids duplicates and keeps processing lighter on the server side.
