Statistics
Statistics: bot
Learn how to read the bot statistics tab in Fastory to spot friction points in your questions and identify which traffic sources bring you the most contacts.
The bot tab of your statistics helps you understand how users completed your bot. It shows you how answers progressed and where your collected contacts came from, so you can spot what works and what holds your participants back.
What is it for?
The bot is the thread of questions you send to your users to collect their answers and contact details. This tab lets you measure how that journey was actually completed: at which point answers drop off, and which traffic sources brought you the most contacts. It is a great way to understand your participants' behavior and improve your next campaigns.
How does it work?
The tab brings together two complementary charts. Here is how to read them:
- Check the Bot chart to follow, question by question, how your bot was completed.
- Spot any friction points, meaning questions that receive fewer answers than the previous ones.
- Open the All sources chart to identify the channels that brought you the most contacts.
- Combine both readings to adjust your questions and your distribution channels.
The Bot chart
This chart lets you determine whether there was any friction at a given point in the bot. Some questions may receive fewer answers because they are perceived as too difficult or too personal. By observing where answers drop, you understand precisely how your users went through and completed the bot.
The All sources chart
This chart answers a simple question: which sources helped you collect the most emails? It shows you the best-performing channels for contact collection so you can focus your efforts on the ones that convert best.
Best practices
- Keep an eye on the Bot chart to detect the exact question from which answers start to decline.
- Rephrase or move questions perceived as too personal or too difficult, to limit drop-offs.
- Compare your sources regularly to invest in the channels that bring in the most emails.
- Keep in mind that only data with cookie consent is available: interpret the volumes with this limitation in mind.
Concrete use cases
If you want to identify a question that blocks your users
Open the Bot chart and spot where the number of answers drops sharply. This decline signals a question to rework, often because it is too difficult or too personal.
If you want to know which channel brings you the most contacts
Check the All sources chart to see which origin generated the most emails, then prioritize that channel in your next distributions.
If you want to improve your bot's completion rate
Combine both charts: adjust the questions that cause friction and steer your audience through the most effective sources, to maximize the number of bots completed all the way through.
FAQ
What does the Fastory bot Statistics tab measure?
It measures how users completed your Fastory bot: the progression of answers question by question, and the sources that brought in the most emails. It is a key reference for understanding your participants' behavior.
How do I spot a friction point in my Fastory bot?
Look at the Bot chart: a marked drop in the number of answers to a given question indicates friction. That question is probably perceived as too difficult or too personal by your users.
Why do some questions in my bot receive fewer answers?
Because they may be too difficult or too personal for your participants. The Fastory Bot chart helps you locate these questions so you can rephrase them.
What is the All sources chart for?
It shows you which sources helped you collect the most emails through your Fastory experience. You then know which channels to prioritize for your future campaigns.
Why is some data missing from my statistics?
Because only data with cookie consent is available in Fastory. The volumes displayed therefore reflect only participants who accepted cookies.
Do these statistics also cover my Fanzone?
This tab focuses specifically on the bot of your Fastory experience, meaning the thread of questions completed by your users. It gives you insight into the contact collection you can then leverage across your whole setup, Fanzone included.
