How to set up a button on a screen?

Learn how to add share, social media, classic, and Bot buttons to a screen in the Fastory Studio, customize their style with your brand colors, and pin them to the bottom of the screen.

Buttons turn a screen into an action point for your audience: sharing your experience, driving traffic to your social networks, or opening the Bot. This article walks through the different types of buttons available in the Fastory Studio and how to set them up.

Before you start, we recommend reading the article explaining how to add a component to your screen.

What is it for?

A button lets you add a call to action directly on your screen. Depending on the type you choose, it helps you:

  • invite participants to share your experience by email or on social media
  • redirect your audience to your website, your Landing Pages, or your social networks
  • offer a custom call to action in your brand colors
  • open the Bot manually

Access the buttons

  1. From the screen you want to enhance, open the components section.
  1. Select the button type that matches your goal: Share, Button, or Bot Button.
  1. In the menu bar on the left, adjust the button's settings, text, and style.

The different types of buttons

The share button

With this feature, your audience can share your experience by email, on Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and/or WhatsApp.

To set it up:

  • in the components section, select Share
  • in the menu bar on the left, adjust this button's settings, text, and style

The social media button

In the components section, select Button. This button lets you boost traffic to your website, your Landing Pages, and your social networks.

  • Enter the URL to your website or social networks in the dedicated field, and check the External URL box.
  • Then choose a predefined style in the menu bar on the left.

For a selfie contest, these buttons appear in the gallery, at the bottom right of the photos.

The classic button

In the components section, select Button. You can link this button to any external website by entering its URL.

To customize its design and match it to your brand colors:

  • open the Style section
  • check Custom

You can then edit the button's colors, borders, shadows, and margins.

The Bot button

In the components section, select Bot Button. This button lets the user open the Bot manually. Then select the Bot you want to link to the button.

Pin a button to the bottom of the screen

To keep users from having to scroll before seeing the button, you can pin it to the bottom of the screen. For each button type, go to its settings and check the fixed position when scrolling option.

Best practices

  • Write a clear, compelling button label.
  • Pin your main button to the bottom of the screen so it always stays visible.
  • Customize your buttons' style with your brand colors using the Custom option.
  • Check that the external URLs you enter are correct and working.
  • Reserve the share button for screens where you want to maximize the reach of your experience.
