Getting started with Fanzone
The Carousel Block
Learn how to use the Carousel Block to display images and autoplay videos side by side in your Fanzone, with a title, caption and link on each slide.
The Carousel Block lets you display several media side by side in your Fanzone. Your fans scroll through images and videos and click on the one that interests them.
What is it for?
The Carousel Block gathers several pieces of content in a compact space. It is perfect for showcasing a collection, a product range, a series of highlights or multiple offers.
Each slide can carry its own title, caption and link. Your fans move from one piece of content to the next without leaving the page.
Videos in the carousel can start automatically, muted, only when they are on screen. This keeps the page smooth and prevents several videos from playing at the same time.
Add a Carousel Block
- Open your Fanzone in the back office.
- Click Add a Block.
- Select the Carousel Block.
- Add your images and videos.
- Edit each slide to set its title, caption, link and options.
Main features
Images and videos
The Block accepts both images and videos in the same carousel. You import them from your media library and reorder them as you like.
You also choose which slides are visible, so you can prepare several media and only display some of them.
Autoplay on the visible slide
For each video slide, enable Autoplay. The video then starts muted, but only when its slide is the one displayed on screen.
Only one video plays at a time. When the fan moves to another slide, the previous video pauses. This avoids any cacophony and keeps the carousel lightweight.
As in the Video Block, a sound button can appear on a video slide set to autoplay. You choose whether to show or hide it with the Show sound button option.
Action button per slide
Each slide can carry its own link. You enter a URL and the fan is redirected when they click on the slide or on its button.
You can also add a global button to the Block, below the carousel, to offer an action shared by all slides.
Title and caption
Add a title and a caption to each slide. You choose where they appear relative to the media: above, below, left, right or as an overlay.
Format, size and pagination
Choose the slide format: 1:1, 9:16, 16:9 or 4:3. Set the slide size with small, medium or large, and show or hide the pagination depending on the look you want.
Best practices
- Mix images and videos to give your carousel rhythm and hold attention.
- Reserve autoplay for the videos that really need it, to avoid overloading the page.
- Add a link to each slide to make every piece of content clickable.
- Use short, clear captions to guide the fan.
- Check which slides are visible before publishing.
Concrete use cases
If you want to showcase a product range, create one slide per product
Add an image or a video per product, a title, a caption and the link to the product page. The fan scrolls through the range and clicks on what interests them.
If you want to chain highlights together, use autoplay videos
Add your clips with muted autoplay. Each video starts when its slide is visible, creating a dynamic experience without overloading the page.
FAQ
How do I create a carousel of images and videos in a Fanzone?
Add a Carousel Block, then import your images and videos from your media library. You can then edit each slide to set its title, caption, link and display options.
Does autoplay for videos in the Carousel Block start with sound?
No, each autoplay video starts muted. In addition, only the video on the visible slide starts, and only one video plays at a time. A sound button lets the fan turn the audio on if they wish.
Can I add a different link to each slide of the carousel?
Yes, each slide can have its own link. The fan is redirected when they click on the slide or on its button. You can also add a global button below the carousel for a shared action.
What happens when the fan moves to another video slide?
The previous video automatically pauses, and the video on the newly visible slide can start if its autoplay is enabled. Only one video plays at a time, which keeps the carousel smooth.
How do I choose the format and size of the slides in the Carousel Block?
In the style settings, choose the format from 1:1, 9:16, 16:9 and 4:3, and set the slide size with small, medium or large. You can also show or hide the pagination.
Can I prepare several media and only display some of them in the carousel?
