How to change your social media metas?

Learn how to customize the title, description, and image (metas) that appear when you share your Fastory experience link on social media.

What is a meta?

The term meta (or metadata) refers to the title, description, and image that automatically appear alongside your link when you share it on social media (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp...). When set up properly, they turn a plain link into an eye-catching preview card that makes people want to click.

How to change my experience's metas?

  1. Go to the Publish tab of your experience.
  1. Upload an image, write a title and a description.
  1. Check the preview of how your post will look.

Please note: the image must not exceed 300 KB for WhatsApp and Facebook.

Best practices

  • Choose an image that stays readable even at a small size, in your campaign's colors.
  • Write a short, compelling title: it's what makes people want to click.
  • Use the description to highlight the prize or the benefit of the experience.
  • Social networks may cache a link's preview: if you change your metas after the link has already been shared, the old preview card may still appear for a while.

FAQ

What is a meta on a Fastory experience?

It's the combination of title + description + image that automatically appears as a preview card when you share your experience link on a social network or messaging app.

Where can I edit my experience's metadata?

In the Publish tab of your experience: you can upload an image, write a title and a description, and preview the result.

What image size should I choose for the metas?

The image must not exceed 300 KB to display correctly on WhatsApp and Facebook. Choose a visual that remains readable even at a small size.

Why is the old preview card still showing after I made changes?

Social networks cache link previews. After an update, the old preview card may persist for a while before being refreshed.

Do metas affect participation in my game?

Yes: a polished preview card (attractive image, compelling title, visible prize) significantly increases the click-through rate when the link is shared.
